In November 2015 I visited the region of Palangkaraya in Kalimantan, where one of the biggest ecological man made disasters in the history of mankind had taken place.
The country had been covered in a blanket of smoke and haze for almost two months making tenhousands of households struggling to stay healthy and continue their normal lives.
These are images of the direct aftermath of a country burning. Burning for palm oil.
Thousands of displaced families, mothers, fathers and children who have lost every last bit of security in their lives due to one of the 100.000 fires that plagued Borneo in the summer of 2015 have been struck by this disaster.
The government did nothing to help them or stop palm oil plantations chopping down one of the most bio diverse places on our planet and setting the whole country on fire to clear land for farming.
This is a glimpse of a devastated land in urgent need of help.
